The Punjab Kings were put into bat in Match 46 of the 2026 Indian Premier League against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Titans started the innings on fire with Mohammed Siraj removing Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly in the first over. The innings started with Priyansh top-edging a searing short ball from Siraj, which flew high behind the keeper. Jos Buttler, running backwards towards fine leg, was unable to hold on to the catch. But Siraj made up for it the next ball, as Arya slapped another short ball straight to debutant Nishant Sindhu stationed at deep backward point.
Siraj then followed that up with the wicket of Connolly, who saw the ball take a feather edge off the inside edge of his bat and end up straight in the hands of Buttler. With two wickets in two balls, Siraj dismissed two of the Kings' top batters early, breaking the innings open for the Titans to dominate. The Kings ended their powerplay on 35/3, with Kagiso Rabada dismissing Prabhsimran Singh.
