Jane Maguire out of Ireland Women's T20 World Cup 2026 squad due to knee injury

Hours after Aimee Maguire made it to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 squad, her sister, Jane Maguire, has been ruled out of the tournament and will not be available for Ireland as she has been ruled out owing to a knee injury. Aimee, the younger of the Maguire sisters, received a clearance to participate in the tournament after getting the nod from Cricket Ireland's medical staff.
Gaby Lewis is being rested from the Tri-Series preceding the global tournament to give her additional time to recover from her leg injury sustained recently. Lewis injured herself while representing Lancashire in the ECB Women's One-Day Cup, which has ruled her out of the tri-series, which also involves the West Indies Women and Pakistan Women. Orla Prendergast will lead the Irish women in Lewis' absence.
