Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a dazzling performance for India A with a 32-ball century against UAE in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, a knock that has taken the cricketing world by storm.

Vaibhav’s 32-ball century at Doha’s West End Park International Cricket Stadium was the joint-second fastest T20 hundred by an Indian, equaling the record previously set by Rishabh Pant. His aggressive yet controlled innings included 15 sixes and 11 fours, culminating in a remarkable 144 runs off 42 balls. This innings helped India A post a mammoth total of 297 for 4 in their match against UAE, contributing significantly to their commanding 148-run victory.

Suryavanshi’s brilliant knock showcased his ability to dominate bowling attacks with ease. His partnership with Naman Dhir added 163 runs for the second wicket, providing India A a strong platform. The young batsman’s fearless stroke play ensured the bowlers barely got time to settle, and he capitalized on every scoring opportunity, putting India A firmly in control throughout the innings.

The batting effort was further supported by captain Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 83 off 32 balls and an effective bowling performance that restricted UAE to 149 for 7.

When asked about handling the pressure at such a young age, Vaibhav confidently stated he never felt overwhelmed by the noise in the stadium.

He said: “Fans hai toh support ke liye aaye hai. Kuch pressure nahi feel hota. Aur ek baar jab ground ke andar jao toh sab bahar ka kuch sunai nahi deta [Fans come to support us. I don’t feel any pressure. And once you step onto the ground, you don’t hear anything from outside].”

His fearless approach at just 14 years of age highlights his immense talent and maturity beyond his years, affirming why he is seen as one of the hottest prospects in Indian cricket.

Suryavanshi added: “Jab main peeche dekhta hoon toh pata chalta hai ye sab life ki journey hai. Main tab kahan khelta tha aur ab kahan khelta hoon. I am very grateful [When I look back, I realise all of this is a part of life’s journey. Where I used to play then, and where I play now].”

He also credited his father for his cricketing journey till far.

“Main credit apne papa ko dena chahunga. Unhone mujhe bachpan se bohot strictly rakha. Tab lagta tha ki itne strict kyun hain, lekin ab samajh aata hai. Uska effect ground pe dikhta hai – main distract nahi hota (I want to give credit to my father. He kept me very disciplined from childhood. Back then, I used to wonder why he was so strict, but now I understand. Its impact shows on the field – I don’t get distracted).”
