Star Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who recently got engaged to his childhood friend Vanshika in a private ceremony in Lucknow on Wednesday, June 4, deleted a photo, which saw him posing with his fiancée, after keeping it up on Instagram for a brief while.
The aforementioned private ceremony was attended by the couple's friends and family members. Indian batter Rinku Singh, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, like Kuldeep, also attended the event. Kuldeep's fiancée, Vanshika, who works with LIC, hails from Shyam Nagar in Lucknow.
Kuldeep is currently in the United Kingdom, as he is preparing with the Indian team, which will face England in a five-match Test series, with the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at stake. The 30-year-old Kuldeep has played 13 Tests, 113 ODIs, and 40 T20Is so far for the Men in Blue. His last Test appearance was in the first Test against New Zealand last year in Bengaluru in October.
The Kanpur-born has played only a solitary Test match in England, where he bowled just nine overs and couldn't pick up a wicket. Kuldeep is the sole specialist spinner in the 18-man squad picked by the All India Men's Senior Selection Committee for the series against The Three Lions. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are the two spin-bowling all-rounders in the side.
Kuldeep's overall record against England is impressive. In six matches, he has accounted for 21 wickets at an average of 22.28 and a strike rate of 38.70. He registered his best bowling figures against England in Dharamsala in 2024, picking up five wickets at the expense of 72 runs in the first innings. The Aligarh-born followed it up with a 30-run knock with the bat and two more wickets in the final innings of the Test match.
Playing alongside Jadeja is an honor for me: Kuldeep
After Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket midway through the Border-Gavaskar series, fans and experts are expecting Kuldeep to get more game time, starting with the England tour.
