LPL 2026: Match 18, JK vs KR Match Prediction – Who will win today’s LPL match between Jaffna Kings vs Kandy Royals?
Jaffna Kings (JK) square off against Kandy Royals (KR) in match No. 18 of the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on Thursday, July 30.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa's Jaffna Kings have played six matches so far. They have won four matches and lost two, finding themselves at No. 2 in the standings. The Kings are coming into this clash on the back of a 19-run win against Colombo Kaps.
Meanwhile, Kandy Royals have not had the best of campaigns so far. They have played seven matches, winning three and losing four. However, they will take confidence from their last game where they chased down a 209-run target with seven balls and six wickets to spare against the Galle Gallants.
From the first two games held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, it is clear that the pitch is in favour of the batters. Bowlers will have to be on point with their execution as the margin for error is very little. Winning the toss and opting to bat first might not be a bad option if the captains are confident about their batters' ability to post a big total.
Kamil Mishara (WK), Avishka Fernando, Ibrahim Zadran, Dunith Wellalage, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (C), Towhid Hridoy, Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Traveen Mathew, Shakib Al Hasan, Lizaad Williams, Mohamed Shiraz.
Lahiru Udara (WK), Dale Phillips, Moeen Ai, Angelo Mathews (C), Pawan Sandesh, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushan Hemantha, Nuwan Thushara, Shaheen Afridi, Asitha Fernando, Zahir Khan.
Kamil Mishara could be the batter who plays a defining role on Thursday. The 25-year-old has already amassed 213 runs in six innings at an average of 35.50 and a strike rate of 156.62. If he gets going, he will help his team get off to a flying start.
South African speedster Lizaad Williams has taken the league by storm. He has picked up 12 wickets in just five games, having bowled less than 18 overs. His economy rate of 8.91 is on the higher side but captain Rajapaksa won't mind as long as he is picking up as many wickets.
