Shivamogga Lions (SL) lock horns with Mysore Warriors (MW) in match No. 28 of the Maharaja Trophy 2025 at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore on Sunday, August 24.

Nihal Ullal's Shivamogga Lions are yet to win a match in the Maharaja Trophy 2025. They lost their most recent fixture by just five runs against Mangalore Dragons. In eight matches, the Lions have lost seven, with one point coming through a washout of the game against the Mysore Warriors last week. They have already been eliminated and will search for pride in their last two matches.

On the other hand, the Mysore Warriors are placed at No. 5 on the points table, only above the Lions. They have two wins and five defeats from nine games. Even a win on Sunday won't be enough for the defending champions to progress to the next phase of the tournament.

While the surfaces have slowed down due to wear and tear, batters can still dominate if they are willing to give themselves some time in the middle. Spinners can hope for assistance, especially when the ball gets old. The captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first.

Dhruv Prabhakar, Nilah Ullal (C & WK), Tushar Singh, Rohit Kumar K, Aneeshwar Gauta, Aniruddha Joshi, Hardik Raj, Avinash D, Anand Doddamani, V Koushik, Vidhwath Kaverappa.

SU Karthik, Kathik CA, Lankesh KS, Harshil Dharmani, Manish Pandey (C), M Venkatesh, Sumit Kumar (WK), Yashovardhan Parantap, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shikhar Shetty, LR Kumar.

Tushar Singh played a brilliant knock in the last game against Mangalore Dragons. He smashed 89 off 48 balls, hitting six fours and seven sixes. In five innings, he has scored 168 runs at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 157.01. He will hold the key for the Lions at the top of the order.

Krishnappa Gowtham has not had a great season so far. However, he will look to use his experience and help Mysore Warriors finish their campaign on a high. He has picked up seven wickets in eight games so far. If he can bag wickets through the middle overs, it will stand the Warriors in good stead.
