MLC 2026: Match 7, TEX vs NY Match Prediction – Who will win today’s MLC match between Texas Super Kings vs MI New York?
Texas Super Kings (TEX) lock horns with MI New York (NY) in match No. 7 of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Monday, June 22.
Faf du Plessis' Texas Super Kings started their campaign with a comfortable six-wicket win against Seattle Orcas, chasing down a 221-run target with nine balls to spare. The Men in Yellow, however, failed to back up that performance, as they lost to the San Francisco Unicorns in their second game. The Unicorns chased down a 153-run target with seven wickets and 13 balls left to play.
MI New York, on the other hand, has played only one game so far. The defending champions lost to the Washington Freedom by 30 runs after being restricted to 215/6 while chasing an improbable 246-run target in Dallas.
The pitch at the Grand Prairie Stadium has been exemplary for batting. Bowlers haven't had much of a say at the high-scoring venue. The average first-innings score in the four full 20-over matches was around 209. Even in the rain-curtailed clash between Los Angeles Knight Riders and San Francisco Unicorns, both teams scored at run-rates of over 10. The first five matches played so far in MLC 2026 have been won by chasing teams.
Faf du Plessis (C), Saiteja Mukkamalla (WK), Rilee Rossouw, Donovan Ferreira, Wiaan Mulder, Shubham Ranjane, Amshi de Silva, Milind Kumar, Mohammad Mohsin, Nandre Burger, Hardus Viljoen.
Monank Patel, Quinton de Kock (WK), Nicholas Pooran (C), Tajinder Dhillon, Kieron Pollard, Corey Anderson, Romario Shepherd, Corbin Bosch, Trent Boult, Rohil Ugarkar, Nosthush Kenjige.
Faf du Plessis has had a mixed start to the campaign with the bat in hand. In the opening encounter against Seattle, he smashed an unbeaten 113 off 52 balls, but in the subsequent fixture against San Francisco, he was dismissed for six. The Texas skipper will look to play a key role inside the power play.
Nandre Burger had a decent season in the IPL and has started the MLC on a promising note. The left-arm seamer has conceded just 40 runs in six overs and picked up one wicket. He will want to give the Super Kings some early wickets with the new ball.
