Renowned actor R. Madhavan recently dropped the teaser of The Chase, directed by Vasan Bala. The teaser made headlines with the presence of legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni seen donning the avatar of a task force officer. The unexpected collaboration between Madhavan and Dhoni has already gone viral.
On September 7, Madhavan shared the teaser on his social media handles, calling it the beginning of “a wild, explosive chase.” The short clip showed both him and Dhoni as two fighters on one mission, dressed in task force uniforms.
“One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up - a wild, explosive chase begins. The Chase - teaser out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon. @mahi7781 @vasanbala - @viraj_ghelani @lucifercircus production," the actor's post read.
Fan reveals untold story of MSD & Irfan's ‘incredible bond’
The 55-year-old refrained from clarifying whether The Chase is a feature film, a web series, or a promotional campaign. This has kept the fans in speculation about whether this could be Dhoni’s full-fledged acting debut. While the cricketer has been a household name for his heroics, his experience in the entertainment business has so far been limited to advertisements and a cameo appearance in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Tamil film GOAT.
This comes after Dhoni’s recent induction into the ICC Hall of Fame, making him the 11th Indian to receive the honour. From leading India to the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy, the Ranchi-born remains the only captain to win all three ICC white-ball titles.
Meanwhile, R. Madhavan was last seen in Netflix’s Aap Jaisa Koi alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh. He is also gearing up for the big release of Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt.
