England Women wrapped up a flawless 3-0 series whitewash against the West Indies with a commanding nine-wicket win in the final ODI at Taunton. With the series already in the bag, the hosts showed no signs of complacency as they dismantled the visitors in a rain-shortened 21-overs-a-side match.

After bowling first, the hosts restricted West Indies to just 106/8 before chasing down the target in just 10.5 overs, sealing a one-sided contest and highlighting their readiness for bigger challenges ahead.

Speaking after the emphatic win, English skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt lauded her team’s execution and emphasized the need to test various combinations before the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, set to begin on September 30 in India.

“Looking at different combinations, trying things out. We have to gather information or we won’t be able to explore them nearer to the World Cup. It’s pleasing to see that everyone given an opportunity has put their hand up,” said Sciver-Brunt as quoted by ICC.

Having taken over the reins earlier this year, Sciver-Brunt has used the West Indies series to blend experience with youth—an approach that seems to be paying off.

With the Caribbean challenge now behind them, England have their eyes set on the World Cup in India—a destination known for its spin-friendly pitches and humid conditions. Sciver-Brunt acknowledged the challenge ahead and stressed the importance of preparation.

“Some girls have a few days off, then some domestic cricket. We’ll be raring to go come India,” she added, indicating that the team’s focus has already shifted to adapting to subcontinental conditions.
