Los Angeles Waves CC 78/2 in 10 overs (Gauranshu Sharma 23, Sheldon Jackson 21*; Benny Howell 1/9, Saad Humayun 1/10) beat New York Lions CC 59/9 (Emilio Gay 28, Adam Rossington 11; Rumman Raees 4/9, Colin Archibald 2/3) by 19 runs.
Rumman Raees' stunning bowling effort orchestrated a 19-run win for Los Angeles Waves CC in match No. 11 of the National Cricket League T10 2025 at the University of Texas Dallas on Thursday, October 9.
Wayne Parnell won the toss and invited Los Angeles Waves CC to bat first. Opening batters Ali Nadeem and Gauranshu Sharma batted with caution and added a solid 42-run stand inside the first five overs. Saad Humayun dismissed Nadeem for a 16-ball 20 to give New York their first breakthrough.
Gauranshu scored 23 off 16 balls, hitting two fours and one six. The right-handed batter was the top-scorer for Los Angeles. George Munsey struggled to find his timing, remaining unbeaten on 12 off 16 balls. On the other hand, Sheldon Jackson played an important knock, scoring 21 not out off 12 deliveries to help Los Angeles finish on 78/2 in 10 overs.
Benny Howell was the best bowler on show for New York. He finished with figures of 1/9 in two overs. Humayun also bagged a solitary wicket, giving away just 10 runs in his two overs.
Chasing a 79-run target, Amshi de Silva drew first blood for Los Angeles, dismissing Adam Rossington in the second over. Wickets kept tumbling for the Lions, as no batter from the middle or lower order managed to register double-digit scores.
Emilio Gay tried to anchor the innings with his 28-run knock from 26 balls. However, he didn't get any support from the other end. New York needed 21 runs to win off the last over with five wickets remaining. Rumman Raees was given the responsibility of bowling the final over.
The Pakistan seamer dismissed Benny Howell, Saad Humayun, Wayne Parnell, and Junaid Siddiqui in the space of five deliveries. In the end, the Lions were restricted to 59/9 in their 10 overs, losing by 19 runs.
