Atlanta Kings CC pulled off a comfortable chase to defeat New York Lions CC by seven wickets with two overs to spare in the National Cricket League (NCL) T10 2025 match held at the University of Texas, Dallas on Tuesday, October 7. Atlanta Kings skipper Sohail Tanvir won the toss and elected to bowl first on a surface that offers plenty for the batters.
Batting first, New York Lions CC made a steady start, reaching 42 for the loss of one wicket at the halfway mark. Their opening batter Adam Rossington departed early for 6 runs, while Jaskaran Malhotra contributed 10 before falling cheaply. Despite wickets tumbling at regular intervals, Emilio Gay anchored the innings with a composed knock.
Gay played a crucial role, scoring 41 off 29 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes, keeping the scoreboard moving. From the middle order, Rehman Dar added valuable runs, smashing 21 off just 9 deliveries with two fours and two maximums. Their efforts guided New York Lions to a competitive total of 82 for 4 in 10 overs. For Atlanta Kings, Tanvir, Faisal Khan, Manoj Acharya, and Zia Shahzad picked up one wicket each, effectively restricting the scoring rate in the latter stages.
Chasing 83 for victory, Atlanta Kings CC had a shaky start, losing both openers Angelo Perera (5) and Ansh Bhoje (1) early. However, the middle order responded confidently as Asa Tribe and Leonardo Julien stitched a vital 54-run partnership for the third wicket. Julien contributed 29 off 16 balls with four boundaries and a six, while Tribe remained unbeaten on 36 from 21 balls, smashing three fours and two sixes. Fabian Allen provided the finishing touches with 10 runs off 5 balls.
Atlanta Kings comfortably reached 85 for 3 in 8 overs, sealing victory with 12 balls to spare. For New York Lions CC, Saad Humayun, Wayne Parnell, and Vatsal Vaghela each claimed a wicket.
With this win, Atlanta Kings CC moved to second place in the points table with four points, while New York Lions CC slipped to fourth with two points. Atlanta Kings will next face Dallas Lonestars CC on October 9, while New York Lions will meet the same opponent on October 8.
