Pakistan get humiliated as Bangladesh complete historic win in Dhaka

Bangladesh pulled off a massive 104-run victory over Pakistan in the first Test at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The hosts delivered an all-round performance to outplay Pakistan and take an important lead in the series. Bangladesh posted 413 in their first innings after several batters made key contributions.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led from the front with a brilliant century, anchoring the innings superbly. For Pakistan, fast bowler Mohammad Abbas was the standout performer with the ball, claiming an impressive five-wicket haul.
Pakistan responded strongly in their first innings and managed 386 runs to stay in the contest. Young batter Azan Awais impressed with a fine century, while the middle order chipped in with valuable runs. However, Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz turned the game in his team’s favour with a brilliant five-wicket haul.
In the second innings, Bangladesh added another 240 runs and set Pakistan a challenging target on a pitch that increasingly assisted the bowlers. Pakistan struggled badly during the chase and were eventually bowled out for just 163. Fast bowler Nahid Rana starred with the ball and dismantled the batting lineup with a sensational five-wicket haul, sealing a memorable victory for Bangladesh.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led from the front with a magnificent innings of 101 runs off 130 deliveries, smashing 12 fours and two sixes during his stay at the crease. The left-hander played with great confidence and composure, helping Bangladesh build a strong first-innings total in the opening Test against Pakistan. He also stitched together a brilliant 170-run partnership in 253 balls for the third wicket, which put Bangladesh in a commanding position during the middle phase of the innings. He also scored a crucial fifty in the second innings.

Right-arm pacer Nahid Rana displayed his class while defending the target against Pakistan in the first Test at Dhaka. The young speedster delivered a sensational spell and finished with outstanding figures of 5/40 in just 10 overs, playing a major role in Bangladesh’s memorable victory. He dismissed key players including Shaheen Afridi, Noman Ali, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood, and Mohammad Rizwan to dismantle the batting lineup during the chase.
