Pakistan have unveiled a balanced 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with skipper Fatima Sana once again entrusted to lead the side on the biggest stage. The squad announcement also includes Pakistan’s preparations for the Tri-series in Ireland featuring the West Indies, which will act as a crucial tune-up ahead of the mega event in England.
The Tri-series will take place in Dublin from May 28 to June 4, giving the team valuable match practice before the World Cup begins. Pakistan head into the tournament with growing confidence after dominant performances against Zimbabwe in a recently concluded white-ball series.
This will be Fatima’s third appearance at a Women’s T20 World Cup and her second consecutive stint as captain after previously leading Pakistan during the 2024 edition in the UAE. The management has shown faith in her leadership skills and all-round abilities as the side aims to make a strong impression in the competition.
Pakistan’s squad reflects a healthy mix of youth and experience. Several fresh faces have earned maiden T20 World Cup selections, including Eyman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab. Their inclusion highlights Pakistan’s focus on building depth and rewarding recent domestic and international performances.
Meanwhile, experienced pacer Diana Baig returns to the squad in place of Amber Kainat, who is the only omission from the squad that recently faced Zimbabwe.
Pakistan will rely heavily on their experienced top order during the tournament. Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali and senior batter Ayesha Zafar are expected to provide stability and momentum at the top of the innings.
Another major positive for the side is the form of Gull Feroza. The opener recently impressed with two centuries during the ODI series against Zimbabwe and now heads into her second T20 World Cup full of confidence. Her attacking approach could play a significant role in Pakistan’s campaign.
The selectors have also announced six reserve players, ensuring the squad has backup options in case of injuries or unexpected setbacks during the long tour.

Pakistan will kick off their Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign with a blockbuster encounter against arch-rivals India at Edgbaston on June 14. The clash is already expected to attract huge attention from cricket fans around the world.
Before the tournament officially begins, Pakistan will play two warm-up fixtures. They are scheduled to face Sri Lanka on June 6 and Scotland on June 9, with both matches set to be held in Derby.
Pakistan enter the tournament on the back of strong momentum after comfortably whitewashing Zimbabwe in both the ODI and T20I series at home. The team management will now hope that the combination of experienced campaigners and fearless newcomers can help Pakistan deliver an improved performance on the world stage.
