Pakistan batter Hasan Nawaz has been dropped from the Men in Green squad ahead of both the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka, followed by the T20I tri-series, where Zimbabwe will also be taking part. Fakhar Zaman has been called to replace Nawaz in the 15-man squad for the T20I series. However, no one will be replacing the right-handed batter for the ODIs, as the first match will be played on November 11.
According to an official release on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) website, it can be confirmed that Nawaz has not been released from the squad due to any injury or fitness concern. In fact, the PCB selectors want Nawaz to participate in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the seventh round of Pakistan's premier First-Class competition.
After the opening ODI, the second and third match of the series against the Lankan Lions will be played on November 13 and November 15, respectively. Notably, all the three matches of the ODI series will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The tri-series, to be played in the shortest format of international cricket, will run from November 17 up until November 29, as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe will battle it out for a fierce clash.
