Pakistan Women (PAK W) are set to face Zimbabwe Women (ZIM W) in the third T20I and final T20I at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday, May 15.
On expected lines, Zimbabwe have been outplayed so far, be it in the ODI series or in the first T20I, which took place on Tuesday in Karachi. After a 3-0 whitewash in the ODIs, Pakistan defeated the African nation by a whopping 153 runs in the first T20I.
The second T20I is going to be played at the same venue on Thursday, May 14. Zimbabwe would need to win that game to prevent the third T20I from being a dead rubber. However, in four matches across the two formats, Zimbabwe have not been able to find any chink in Pakistan's armour.
The National Stadium in Karachi has produced some fantastic surfaces, where the balls have come onto the bat nicely. However, the Zimbabwe batters have not been able to take advantage of the conditions as a strong Pakistan bowling lineup has had the upper hand against them.
The first T20I played between these two sides was also their first meeting in the shortest format.
Muneeba Ali (WK), Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Saira Jabeen, Natalia Pervaiz, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana (C), Tuba Hassan, Rameen Shamim, Amber Kainat, Sadia Iqbal.
Kelis Ndhlovu, Natasha Mtomba, Beloved Biza, Kelly Ndiraya, Runyararo Pasipanodya, Vimbai Mutungwindu (WK), Adel Zimunu, Michelle Mavunga, Nomvelo Sibanda (C), Lindokuhle Mabhero, Precious Marange.
Ayesh Zafar only scored 21 runs across two innings in the ODI series. However, in the first T20I, she notched up her maiden century in T20I cricket. Zafar smashed 102 not out off 47 balls, hitting 15 fours and two sixes. Zimbabwean bowlers would want to dismiss her early on Friday.
Captain Fatima Sana bowled a wonderful spell in the first T20I, bagging the wickets of three out of Zimbabwe's top four batters. The right-arm seamer finished with stunning figures of 3/7 in three overs and will look to pick up wickets once again with the new ball on Friday.
