In a recent turn of events, Maharashtra batter Prithvi Shaw has reportedly apologised to Mumbai’s Musheer Khan after their on-field argument during a practice match at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Both stars were involved in a heated exchange after Shaw’s incredible knock.
The flashpoint occurred after Shaw was dismissed for a remarkable 181 off 220 deliveries — a knock that once again highlighted his natural flair and dominance at the crease. As he began walking back to the pavilion, Musheer, who was fielding nearby, allegedly said ‘Thank you’ in a sarcastic manner. The comment did not sit well with Shaw, who turned around and confronted the Mumbai youngster.
Witnesses said Shaw exchanged a few words with Musheer and appeared to raise his bat in frustration before on-field officials intervened. The umpires quickly stepped in to cool things down, ensuring that the altercation did not escalate further.
Following the heated moment, Shaw took the initiative to mend fences with Musheer. A source revealed that Shaw approached Musheer to apologise, acknowledging that his reaction had been excessive.
“Prithvi realised his mistake and spoke to Musheer, telling him, ‘I am like an elder brother to you.’ Things are now resolved between them,” the source added. The reconciliation was also aided by Shaw’s long-standing friendship with Musheer’s elder brother, Sarfaraz Khan, who helped smooth over the tension between the two young cricketers.

While the altercation drew attention, Shaw’s cricketing prowess remained the highlight of the match. He has been enjoying a strong run in domestic cricket, continuing his fine form from the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, where he had scored a century on the opening day against Mumbai. Shaw’s knock of 181 in the practice match underlined his ability to dominate attacks and his intent to make a comeback after a period away from India’s national team.
With the Ranji Trophy 2025–26 season approaching, Shaw appears determined to let his performances speak for themselves. His recent innings demonstrate that, despite brief on-field tensions, his focus on the game remains unwavering.
