Lahore Qalandars (LAH) lock horns with an unbeaten Multan Sultans (MUL) side at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, April 3, in match No. 11 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars have played just two games so far. They defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by 69 runs before suffering a four-wicket loss to Karachi Kings. Qalandars will look to return to winning ways on Friday.
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans are sitting pretty at the top of the standings after winning their first two games. They got the better of Islamabad United by five wickets to kick-start their campaign. In their following game against Hyderabad Kingsmen, the Ashton Turner-led side emerged victorious by six wickets.
In the first seven games hosted at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore this season in the PSL, four have been won by chasing teams. Apart from the one game between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, the rest have been relatively high-scoring. The captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first, unless an absolute belter is provided.
Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Parvez Hossain Emon, Sikandar Raza, Haseebullah Khan (WK), Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi (C), Haris Rauf, Mustafizur Rahman, Ubaid Shah.
Sahibzada Farhan, Steven Smith, Josh Philippe (WK), Shan Masood, Ashton Turner (C), Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Nawaz, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shehzad Gul, Momin Qamar.
Sahibzada Farhan has carried his form from the T20 World Cup into the PSL. The right-handed batter tops the charts for run-getters this season. In two matches, he has amassed 108 runs at an average of 108 and a strike rate of 177.05.
Shaheen Afridi could be the bowler to watch out for in the upcoming clash. He has bagged five wickets in two matches at an average of 9.20. The left-arm seamer would be looking to get his team wickets with the new ball.
