Quetta Gladiators (QUE) take on Multan Sultans (MUL) in match No. 13 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, April 5.
Saud Shakeel-led Quetta Gladiators have played three matches so far. They started with a 14-run defeat to Karachi kings but bounced back with a 40-run win against Hyderabad Kingsmen. However, on Thursday, they were outplayed by Islamabad United, who chased down a 184-run target with eight wickets and 10 balls to spare.
Meanwhile, Ashton Turner's Multan Sultans are placed at No. 3 on the points table. They started their campaign with back-to-back wins against Islamabad United and Hyderabad Kingsmen by five and six wickets, respectively. However, in their most recent clash, they lost by 20 runs to Lahore Qalandars in a 13-over-per-side contest.
The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore has been great for batting so far in PSL 2026. In some games, bowlers have made a considerable impact, but batters are the ones who have mostly thrived. Any score before 200 would not be very difficult to chase down. Captains will also keep an eye on the weather, as rain has affected a couple of games in Lahore.
Saud Shakeel (c), Shamyl Hussain, Khawaja Nafay, Rilee Rossouw, Hasan Nawaz, Ben McDermott (wk), Tom Curran, Ahmed Daniyal, Alzarri Joseph, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq
Sahibzada Farhan, Steven Smith, Josh Philippe (WK), Shan Masood, Ashton Turner (C), Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Nawaz, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Muhammad Ismail, Faisal Akram.
Sahibzada Farhan is in the middle of a purple patch. In three games, he has amassed 132 runs at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 173.68. His opening partnership with Steve Smith will be important on Sunday.
The leg-spinner from Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed, has been in fine form this season. In three games, he has accounted for six scalps and is averaging only 14.50. Being a wrist spinner, his economy rate of 7.25 is excellent. He will have a key role to play through the middle overs.
