The unbeaten Peshawar Zalmi (PES) lock horns with Quetta Gladiators (QUE) in match No. 29 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday, April 19.

Babar Azam has led Peshawar Zalmi from the front. In seven games, they have registered six victories. One of their games ended without a result. Their most recent fixture was against the Quetta Gladiators, which they won by eight wickets, chasing down a 155-run target with nine balls to spare.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators are placed at No. 4 on the points table. Saud Shakeel and Co. have won three and lost four after playing seven matches. In their last game, the Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by six wickets.

The National Stadium in Karachi has hosted 12 matches so far in PSL 2026. The average first-innings total has been around 162. Seven out of the 12 games have been won by chasing teams. The captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first. Maximising the power play while batting will be crucial for both teams. It gets difficult scoring big at the back end of the innings as the ball comes onto the bat slower.

Mohammad Haris, Babar Azam (C), Kusal Mendis (WK), Michael Bracewell, Abdul Samad, Farhan Yousaf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Aaron Hardie, Sufiyan Muqeem, Mohammad Basit, Ali Raza.

Saud Shakeel (C), Shamyl Hussain, Rilee Rossouw, Hasan Nawaz, Dinesh Chandimal (WK), Bevon Jacobs, Jahanad Khan, Saqib Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq.

Babar Azam has been the epitome of consistency this season. In six games, he has amassed 301 runs at an average of 75.25 and a strike rate of 132.59. The former Pakistan captain has already notched up two fifties. He will want to drop anchor and allow the power hitters to go after the bowlers from the other end.

Sufiyan Muqeem is the leading wicket-taker in PSL 2026. The left-arm wrist spinner has accounted for 16 scalps in six matches. He is averaging 9.62 and has an economy rate of 6.41. Muqeem will have a key role to play through the middle overs.
