R Ashwin snubs Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav while naming India's two biggest weapons at T20 World Cup 2026

Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has snubbed Jasprit Bumrah while naming two of India's most potent assets in their T20I team with the T20 World Cup 2026 fast approaching. The mega event scheduled to be played from February 7 to March 8.
Ashwin explained how opposition teams will be aiming to counter the likes of Varun Chakravarthy and Abhishek Sharma to get past the Men in Blue/.
“If any team wants to win the T20 World Cup in India, they will have to master two factors. I was saying until now about handling Jasprit Bumrah. But I will say right now, the way I have seen Tim David handle Varun Chakravarthy, I am thinking teams will gun for Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy if they have to get past India,” stated Ashwin in a video on his YouTube channel.
Ashwin further pointed out that teams playing against India in the T20 World Cup next year will aim to use similar strategies to negate Chakravarthy and Abhishek like the ones used by Australia in the ongoing T20I series.
"Against Abhishek Sharma, they will see this plan Australia has used against him in this series, and they will imbibe that. Whoever is coming for the World Cup will prepare similarly against Varun Chakravarthy because that will give them the leverage in that World Cup,” he added.

Abhishek's best knock in the current series came in the Melbourne T20I when he played a terrific knock of 68 off 37 balls in what was otherwise a disappointing outing for India with the bat. Chakravarthy's standout performance came in the same match, as he conceded only 23 runs in four overs, picking up two wickets.
India are currently playing the five-match series against Australia Down Under. They lead the series 2-1, with the fifth contest slated to be played in Brisbane on Saturday, November 8.
