Ravindra Jadeja has been in the news over the past few days after Rajasthan Royals (RR) expressed their interest in acquiring the services of the veteran all-rounder ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He might be accompanied by Sam Curran, as the Royals are looking to hand Sanju Samson over to the five-time champions.
While the potential trade was almost on the verge of collapsing at one point, the two teams recently returned to the table and will have to make up their minds quickly, as the final retention list will be unveiled on November 15.
Amid the speculations of what could be one of the biggest player exchanges in IPL history, some fans noted on Monday morning that his official Instagram account, under the name of royalnavghan, had been deactivated.
Jadeja is very active on the social media platform, where he gives a sneak peek into his life. During the time of the IPL, the Saurashtra all-rounder often posts about his fondness for CSK and his connection with the fans.
Jadeja has been playing for CSK since 2012, apart from the two seasons - 2016 and 2017 - when the franchise was banned. In 2022, he captained CSK in the first few games before handing the responsibility back to MS Dhoni. Jadeja is the leading wicket-taker for the Men in Yellow and played important roles in their triumphant campaigns in 2018, 2021, and 2023.
Sam Curran, on the other hand, began his IPL career at Punjab Kings in 2019. The England all-rounder played for them once again in 2023 and 2024. In between 2020 and 2021, Curran played for CSK. He re-signed with the five-time champions in the 2025 mega auction for INR 2.4 crore, and went on to score 114 runs and pick up one wicket in five games this season.
Meanwhile, Samson was appointed as the RR skipper in 2021. In 67 matches under his leadership, the inaugural champions have won 33 and lost as many. In IPL 2025, he missed the back end of the tournament due to a side injury. After the season, he expressed his interest in parting ways with the franchise. Since then, the Royals have tried offering him to a few teams, but CSK seem to be the frontrunners to acquire his services ahead of the 19th edition of the cash-rich league.
