Rovman Powell reveals his all-time T20 XI; 4 players each from West Indies and India

West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell has selected his all-time T20 XI, and it features a formidable core of four Indian players. The team, which Powell revealed in a video on the Barbados Royals’ Instagram page, is a mix of power-hitters, strategic geniuses, and world-class bowlers from around the globe. Notably, it includes India’s most successful white-ball captains, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, along with superstar batter Virat Kohli.

Powell’s all-time T20 XI boasts a top-order brimming with explosive talent, led by the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle. Gayle is joined by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, a five-time IPL-winning captain and one of the most prolific run-scorers in the tournament’s history. The lineup also features Kohli, the leading run-getter in the IPL with 8661 runs in 259 innings, including eight centuries and 63 half-centuries.

Powell’s picks also included batting maestro AB de Villiers, known for his revolutionary 360-degree style of play. Kohli and Rohit, who both retired from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, also finished their international careers with over 4,000 runs in the format, solidifying their places in any all-time list. The presence of these cricketing icons at the top of the order ensures a blend of explosive starts, sublime consistency, and unmatched experience.

Dhoni’s inclusion is a nod to his legendary captaincy record, which includes 136 wins in 235 IPL games and the historic 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. On the bowling front, Powell selected Jasprit Bumrah, a testament to his status as one of the best bowlers in the modern game. Bumrah’s impressive record of 316 wickets in 246 T20 innings at an outstanding economy rate of 6.88. The team’s power-packed all-rounder department includes the likes of Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell, while the bowling unit is completed by the spin wizard Sunil Narine and Lasith Malinga, giving the XI a well-rounded and versatile look, capable of dominating any opposition.
