Match 24 of SA20 2025-26 will be played between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings at the St George's Park in Gqeberha on Wednesday, January 14. The teams were scheduled to take on each other on January 3. However, the match was washed out shortly after the toss.

The Eastern Cape are coming off a narrow final-over loss against Durban's Super Giants. They have won three matches out of seven and lost two while a couple of matches have been abandoned due to inclement weather. As the league phase approaches its business end, the Tristan Stubbs-led unit will treating this clash as a must-win one to guarantee a playoff spot.

The Super Kings had the best start to the season out of all teams, winning their first three matches. However, even their campaign has been thwarted by rain. Much like the Eastern Cape, two matches have been spoilt due to weather. Two of their recent three matches ended in defeats to MI Cape Town.

The teams batting second at this venue have had considerably more success. The pitch is expected to have true bounce all throughout the match. Batters will be keen to make full use of the conditions on offer. Spin might play a small role during the middle phase of each innings.

Although du Plessis has not scored a single half-century in this season, the year 2026 has seen some solid starts from him. The top-order batter's scores read 47, 44 and 39. All of those have come at a good tempo.

Although Jansen has picked up only five wickets in five innings in the SA20 this season, he has bowled with considerable accuracy. The tall left-arm seamer has only conceded runs at an economy rate of 6.70. He is expected to put in another such performance and be a vital contributor for his team.
