The 2025-26 edition of the SA20 (Season 4) is set to be a landmark tournament, officially kicking off on December 26, 2025. For the first time, the league will take center stage during South Africa’s traditional ‘Boxing Day’ window, replacing the usual Test match slot. The tournament officially gets underway with a sold-out blockbuster between defending champions MI Cape Town and Durban’s Super Giants at Newlands.
With six franchises — each owned by IPL teams — the SA20 keeps drawing elite international stars while showcasing South Africa’s finest domestic talent. The SA20 is played in a double round-robin structure, where each team faces every other side twice in the league phase, amounting to ten matches per team. The top four teams then advance to the playoffs.
