'See you soon India' - Dewald Brevis confirms he will return to play remainder of IPL 2025

Dewald Brevis has been one of the best performers for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since joining the team for INR 2.20 crore as a replacement for the injured Gurjapneet Singh. The South African youngster smashed a quickfire half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders in CSK's most recent clash, which was at the Eden Gardens on May 7. This knock helped the five-time champions bring an end to a four-match losing streak.

On Friday, May 9, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended for a week following the cross-border tension between India and Pakistan. Several overseas players returned home during the break, including Brevis. The 18th edition of the cash-rich league is set to resume on Saturday (May 17). While reports have suggested that some overseas stars might not return to play the remaining matches, Brevis isn't among them.

The Johannesburg-born took to his official Instagram handle to confirm that he is returning to play CSK's last two games, which are against the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. Brevis uploaded a picture of a CSK huddle on his Instagram story and wrote, "See you soon India".

CSK are having one of their worst seasons in the league as they were the first team to be eliminated in this edition of the tournament. Now, they are languishing at the bottom of the table, having registered just three wins and slumped to nine losses in 12 matches.

Brevis' performance has been one of the rare silver linings for the Men in Yellow. The talented batter has scored 126 runs from four matches at an average of 31.50 and a strike rate of 163.64. He will look to continue his rich vein of form in the last couple of games and help CSK avoid finishing at the bottom of the points table.
