Dhruv Majethia, a self-proclaimed die-hard Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan, added a humorous twist to his wedding ceremony by presenting a playful cricket contract to his bride, Aashima Kakkar, before completing the Hindu wedding rituals. The light-hearted contract humorously listed conditions that would allow him uninterrupted attendance at all future matches involving MS Dhoni, CSK and even Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), leaving the guests in splits.
Majethia shared the video of the fun moment on Instagram, where he and his wife were seen laughing together as Aashima read the contract aloud at the wedding altar. The crowd’s reaction, coupled with the bride’s constant smile, highlighted Majethia’s unwavering devotion to Dhoni and his beloved CSK fandom.
"I, Dhruv Majethia, undersigned groom, do hereby declare that should Aashima permit uninterrupted attendance at all the future matches of MS Dhoni and CSK and RCB, I shall willingly, joyfully and without further negotiation, take seven pheras with her,” read Aashima at the wedding.
"Contract before SEVEN pheras. She gets me for life, I get Thala and CSK matches for life. Fair deal, no?,” the caption read.
Dhoni recalls atmosphere in Wankhede post 2011 World Cup win
While a Dhoni fan added a fun twist to his wedding, Dhoni himself is preparing for the upcoming IPL 2026 season, where he is expected to feature once again for the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni was recently spotted dropping off Virat Kohli in his car after hosting them for dinner at his Ranchi residence ahead of the India vs South Africa ODI. The former India captain was also seen in Dubai earlier, enjoying a game of Pickleball with friends, signalling that he is keeping himself active ahead of the new season.
As for CSK, the franchise is working toward building a strong squad for IPL 2026. They completed a major trade by bringing in Sanju Samson, while trading out Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals (RR). With a refreshed setup, CSK will aim to assemble a compact, competitive unit in pursuit of their sixth IPL title.
