Music director and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has finally broken his silence on the long-speculated romance with ace India Women batter Smriti Mandhana. With a playful remark, he recently confirmed that the couple is taking their relationship to the next level, and will be tieing the knots of their marriage very soon.
Speculation about their bond had been circulating for some time, fueled by their frequent public appearances and photos on social media. The duo had never publicly confirmed being a couple until now. During an event at the State Press Club on Friday, October 17, Muchhal, who hails from Indore, was asked about his relationship with Mandhana and the memories associated with her.
“She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that’s all I want to say. I’ve given you the headline” said Muchhal to reporters as quoted by Times of India.
“My best wishes are with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti (Mandhana). We always want the Indian cricket team to win every match and bring glory to the country,” he added.
Muchhal is well known for composing music for several Bollywood films along with his sister Palak Muchhal. He has made a name for himself in the music industry for his catchy compositions and melodious tunes. Besides music, Muchhal is also a filmmaker. He is currently shooting for his directorial venture, ‘Raju Bajewala’. The movie stars Avika Gor, famous for the TV serial Balika Vadhu, and Chandan Roy, who gained recognition through the web series Panchayat, in the lead roles.
Mandhana, the vice-captain and opening batter of the Indian team, was in Indore for the ICC Women’s World Cup ODI match against England on Sunday, October 19.
Speaking about Mandhana’s World Cup 2025 campaign, she has scored 134 runs in four innings. Her best knock came against Australia Women, where she scored 80 runs, forming a terrific partnership with her opening partner Pratika Rawal. Unfortunately, India Women lost the match against Australia Women by three wickets. The hosts are fourth in the points table with two wins from four games in the marquee event.
