Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma headline marquee player list for Sher-e-Punjab T20 League 2026

The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League is set to return with several familiar names from Punjab cricket preparing to take part in the upcoming season. The competition will once again provide a platform for the state’s emerging cricketers to share the field with established players. The marquee player list for the 2026 edition has now been announced, with some of Punjab’s biggest current stars set to represent different franchises.
India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill and all-rounder Abhishek Sharma are among the biggest names included in the marquee player list. Gill will represent Fazilka Falcons, while Abhishek will turn out for Amritsar Soormas. India left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been named the marquee player for Ludhiana Lions, while wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh will represent Jalandhar Warriors.
Ramandeep Singh has been assigned to Mohali Kings, with young fast bowler Gurnoor Brar set to represent Bathinda Royals. The presence of these players is expected to add significant experience to the tournament while allowing emerging cricketers from Punjab to compete alongside established performers.

The 2026 edition of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League will be played from August 30 to September 13 at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. More than 450 Punjab players are expected to enter the auction, giving several young cricketers an opportunity to earn a place alongside the marquee names. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the importance of the competition in developing local talent.
“Punjab has always been a land of extraordinary cricketing talent and the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League is an important platform to showcase that talent,” Mann said.
PCA Secretary Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer also said the participation of established players would give young cricketers an opportunity to “learn, compete and progress.” With Gill, Abhishek, Arshdeep and other prominent Punjab players involved, the upcoming season is expected to provide another important platform for the state’s cricketing talent.
