His explosive knock featured 11 fours and nine sixes and came at a staggering strike rate of 206.06. Brook also shared a dominant 191-run partnership with Joe Root in just 113 balls for the fourth wicket, accelerating the scoring rate and laying the foundation for England’s commanding total.

Left-arm spinner Liam Dawson was the standout bowler of the match, returning figures of 2/48 from his 10 overs at an economy rate of 4.80. He claimed the key wickets of Jeffrey Vandersay and Dunith Wellalage, effectively wrapping up Sri Lanka’s innings and sealing England’s dominance.
