Subhadeep Ghosh joins Indian team as fielding coach, replaces T Dilip

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly appointed Subhadeep Ghosh as the fielding coach of the Indian men's senior team. The move comes following the departure of T. Dilip, who had been serving at the spot for almost five years, but his contract ended after the conclusion of the white-ball series against England. The BCCI has not extended Dilip's contract, with Ghosh stepping in.

Ghosh, a former cricketer himself, has represented Assam in the domestic circuit during his active days as a professional. Ghosh will join the squad ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which gets underway in mid-August. The report has further added that the BCCI will take a call on interim appointment or a long-term contract for Ghosh as the fielding coach of the side.

Ghosh has a strong CV as a coach and has also spent a lot of time at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, headed by VVS Laxman. He has also served in different roles for the Indian Under-19 side and has also been involved with the women's team as a member of the backroom staff. As per The Times of India, Ghosh has also been with the India A team as the fielding coach and toured with the team for the recent Sri Lanka tour.
