Mumbai Indians (MI) batter and India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty have welcomed a baby girl to the world ahead of the game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Suryakumar would miss the game against the defending champions with his wife close to giving birth to their first child. It has now been revealed that the couple have been blessed with a girl.
The calendar year of 2026 continues to be one of Suryakumar’s best, both in his personal and professional life. Earlier this year, the 35-year-old guided India to their third ICC T20 World Cup title on home soil, defeating New Zealand in the final in Ahmedabad by 96 runs. A few months later, the star batter and his wife have added a baby girl to their wonderful family.
At the time of writing, however, the couple have not made the news public via social media or any other platforms.
Suryakumar is going through a rough patch of form in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-handed batter, however, has captained the MI side on a couple of occasions this season in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Earlier in the week, there were question marks surrounding who would be MI’s captain against RCB in Raipur, with both Suryakumar and Hardik looking likely to miss the game. With the batter still unavailable for selection, Hardik is reported to be fit to take the field on Sunday, May 10.
It is also worth mentioning that at this time, there is no news of when Suryakumar would make a return to the MI squad for the remainder of the 2026 season.

MI has had a poor campaign so far, having won just three matches from 10 outings, and currently find themselves ninth in the standings. It is looking extremely unlikely that they would secure a playoff berth even if they go on to win all four of their remaining games.
