Tamil Nadu name 25 probables for CK Nayudu Trophy Elite 2025-26

Tamil Nadu have named a 25-player probables pool for the CK Nayudu Trophy 2026-27, the BCCI's premier under-23 domestic tournament. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association made the announcement via an official media release on Tuesday, August 25.

The selection has been framed as a probables list, which means the final playing squad is expected to be trimmed from this wider group before the tournament begins. It is standard practice among state associations to announce a larger pool first and then confirm the final squad ahead of each phase. Whether this list of 25 represents the final selection or remains subject to further review by the state selection committee has not been confirmed.

Phase 1 of the CK Nayudu Trophy 2026-27 is scheduled to begin on October 1 and conclude by October 5, 2026. Tamil Nadu are set to face the Rest of India in their opening encounter. The venue for that match has not yet been confirmed.

Tamil Nadu enter the 2026-27 edition as defending champions. The state side defeated Maharashtra in the 2025 CK Nayudu Trophy final, which was held at Dindigul, and will carry considerable expectation into the new campaign.

The CK Nayudu Trophy is the BCCI's national under-23 cricket championship, open to players aged below 23 years. It is one of the most important pathways for young cricketers in India to earn recognition at the senior domestic level and, in time, at the international level.

The tournament is contested by state associations and select representative sides across multiple phases.
