Bangladesh kicked off their T20I series against Pakistan with a commanding seven-wicket victory at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the hosts struck early and often, restricting Pakistan to a modest total of 109 in just 19.3 overs.
Taskin Ahmed led the bowling charge with figures of 3 for 22 in 3.3 overs, dismantling the lower order with precision and pace. Mustafizur Rahman was equally effective, conceding just six runs from his four overs and claiming two wickets, showcasing his trademark control in the death overs. Despite Fakhar Zaman’s resistance with a 44-run knock, the rest of the Pakistani batting lineup crumbled under pressure.

In response, Bangladesh chased down the target with ease, reaching 112 for 3 in only 15.3 overs. Parvez Hossain Emon was the standout performer with the bat, anchoring the innings with a composed 56 not out. His calculated aggression ensured there were no hiccups during the chase.
Though Salman Mirza picked up two wickets for Pakistan, Bangladesh never looked in trouble as they secured a convincing win to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
This victory was built on a collective team effort — the bowlers laid the foundation, and the batters ensured there were no late surprises. Bangladesh will now look to carry this momentum into the second T20I and aim for an early series win against a Pakistan side that will need to regroup quickly.
