Gujarat Titans' (GT) Kagiso Rabada heaped praise on Rajasthan Royals' (RR) Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's incredible six-hitting talent during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The 15-year-old has hit more sixes (40 in 11 innings) than any other batter this season.
Rabada called Sooryavanshi a great talent, lauding his fast hands and fearless approach while batting. The South African pacer said that youngsters like him make the IPL fascinating to watch.
“He’s a great talent. He’s got really fast hands. He’s fearless at the moment. There’s not an ounce of fear in his body. That’s how it normally is when you’re young, it’s really fascinating. It’s great to see in the game of cricket, in the IPL. The game is well and truly alive. Who else is going to come in and make headlines of that nature? Let’s wait and see," Rabada was quoted as saying by India Today.
Rabada said that Sooryavanshi is someone who has an X-factor, and his fearless batting template is the secret to his surreal success.
“What I’m thinking is just another batter, and I try to get the better of him. He’s definitely an X-factor player, someone who is drawing eyes to the game. Fantastic. Really fast hands. No fear. That’s one hell of a combination,” he added.
Rabada said he does not plan anything special while coming up against a batter with a reputation, even when facing in-form young players like Sooryavanshi.
“I just feel like coming into a season, whatever the team you are playing for, I’m just here to try my best and leave it at that. Whatever the outcome is, it is what it is,” he said.
Don’t know how he will last: AB de Villiers on Sooryavanshi
Rabada has been having a tremendous campaign with the ball. He is leading the Titans' bowling attack. The 30-year-old has picked up 21 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.05 and a strike rate of 13.14. His economy rate is also a decent 9.15.
