TNPL 2026: Match 1, ITT vs DD Match Prediction – Who will win today’s TNPL match between Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans vs Dindigul Dragons?

The tenth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League commences with much fanfare and fervour as the Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans take on the Dindigul Dragons in a repeat of last season's final clash at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul on Tuesday, August 4.

The Tamizhans are the defending champions of the 2025 season, beating the Dragons by a whopping 118 runs in the final. They will be looking to continue similar dominance in the 2026 season as well, coming in with a dominant squad with big names like R Sai Kishore, Tushar Raheja and T Natarajan.

The Dragons, who won in 2024, were thrashed in the final after a respectable performance in the league stage saw them make their way to the playoffs. They will be looking to repeat their success mantra to make the final push for the title.

The NPR College Ground in Dindigul offers a balanced surface, aiding both batters and bowlers. The track is usually expected to be flat, allowing batters to play their shots with ease, but the seamers can get lateral movement early, while hit-the-deck bowlers can get help due to the inherent dryness of the surface. With this clash being a night game, the effect of dew is expected to be profound.

Tushar Raheja (wk), Amit Sathvik, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Uthirasamy Sasidev, Mohamed Ali, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore (c), S Mohan Prasath, Pranav Ragavendra, T Natarajan, R Silambarasan, Esakkimuthu A.

Shivam Singh, Baba Indrajith (wk/c), VK Vineeth, Mohit Mittan, Vimal Khumar, Hunny Saini, Varun Chakaravarthy, P Bhuvaneswaran, BK Kishore, Sandeep Warrier, R K Jayant.

Wicketkeeper-batter Tushar Raheja was one of the finds of the 2025 season. The southpaw finished as the top run-scorer in the tournament and took home the Player of the Tournament award, playing a vital role in the Tamizhans' triumph. Raheja scored 488 runs in nine innings at the top of the order, striking at 185.55. He has scored 5 half-centuries, including a brilliant 46-ball 77 in the final. He will be looking to carry this form into the start of the season.

Seam bowler Esakkimuthu A was the leading wicket-taker for the Tamizhans in the 2026 season, taking 14 scalps at an economy rate of 7.46. He will be looking to carry the same form into the season and start with a brilliant performance.
