Top 3 match-winning knocks by MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings
MS Dhoni is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Indian Premier League history. While his leadership has been the cornerstone of Chennai Super Kings' success, his contributions with the bat have been equally memorable. Dhoni has led CSK to five IPL titles and produced countless match-winning innings under pressure, especially in run chases and the death overs. Known for his calm temperament, finishing ability, and clean ball-striking, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter has scored over 5,400 IPL runs across 278 matches.
One of Dhoni's most complete innings came against Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in IPL 2019. Batting first, CSK posted 175/5, with Dhoni remaining unbeaten on 75 off 46 balls. His innings included four boundaries and four towering sixes at a strike rate of 163.04.
After CSK lost early wickets, Dhoni anchored the innings brilliantly while accelerating in the final overs. He stitched together crucial fifty-plus partnerships with Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo, ensuring Chennai reached a competitive total. Rajasthan Royals managed 167/8 in reply despite Ben Stokes' 46, handing CSK an eight-run victory. Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, and Dwayne Bravo claimed two wickets each to seal the win.
