India, who entered as defending champions, won seven games on the trot to lift their record ninth Asia Cup title. Despite India having an unbeaten campaign, the tournament witnessed immense controversies, with the winning team still not in possession of the trophy months after lifting the title.
Despite emerging champions, Suryakumar Yadav & Co. did not physically hold the Asia Cup trophy as the silverware remains secured at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) headquarters in Dubai, following chaotic scenes at the Dubai International Stadium after the final. The trophy was moved from the venue to the ACC office at the ICC Academy complex, where it can only be accessed with special authorization of ACC chairperson Mohsin Naqvi.
