Former Sri Lanka all-rounder Kaushalya Weeraratne held the record for nearly two decades before Suryavanshi surpassed his achievement. Representing Ragama Cricket Club, Weeraratne blasted a half-century in just 12 deliveries during a domestic List A contest in Colombo.
