Ireland Women (IRE W) lock horns with the West Indies Women (WI W) in the first T20I in the tri-nation series on Thursday, May 28. This match will be played at Castle Avenue in Dublin.
Ireland, the West Indies, and Pakistan will be in action in this tri-series. This is a great dress rehearsal for them ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup, which gets underway next month.
The West Indies qualified automatically on the basis of their top-five finish at the previous edition in 2024. Meanwhile, Ireland made it from the Global Qualifier earlier this year in Nepal. They won five matches and lost just two in the campaign. The West Indies, on the other hand, are coming into this series after being whitewashed in the ODI and T20I series against Australia in March-April.
There could be some cloud covering, but the chances of rain are very low. The seamers are expected to get the ball to swing inside the power play. Spinners might not have too much assistance, though. If the batters are willing to spend some time in the middle, they can score runs freely.
Amy Hunter (WK), Orla Prendergast (C), Leah Paul, Laura Delany, Rebecca Stokell, Louise Little, Arlene Kelly, Jane Maguire, Cara Murray, Aimee Maguire, Lara McBride.
Qiana Joseph, Hayley Matthews (C), Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, Shemaine Campbelle, Jahzara Claxton, Chinelle Henry, Jannillea Glasgow, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher, Karishma Ramharack.
