U19 Asia Cup 2025: Ayush Mhatre, Ali Raza involved in verbal battle after dismissal; video goes viral

Ayush Mhatre and Ali Raza were involved in a heated exchange during the second innings of the final of the U19 Asia Cup between India Under-19 and Pakistan Under-19 at the ICC Academy in Dubai on December 21. Mhatre was Raza's first wicket in the match and came in the third over of the chase.

The episode occurred moments after the right-arm quick got rid of the Indian captain. Raza was pumped with the wicket. That is when Mhatre, who was walking back towards the dugout, suddenly turned around and started walking back towards the bowler, who gave the top-order batter an aggressive send-off.

Mhatre played an aerial drive towards mid-off off a short-of-a-good length delivery straight to opposition skipper Farhan Yousaf, who snapped a fairly easy opportunity, as Mhatre was dismissed for just two off seven deliveries.

Interestingly, Raza had been battered in the first over of the innings, as Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit him for two sixes and a four. Suryavanshi's innings did not last long though. His 10-ball 26-run cameo comprised one four and three sixes.

Speaking of the first innings, Pakistan amassed 347/8 in their quota of 50 overs after Mhatre won the toss and opted to field first. Sameer Minhas top-scored with a magnificent 172 off 113, which contained 17 fours and nine sixes. The next-highest scorer was Ahmed Hussain (56 off 72).

For India, Khilan Patel was the most impressive as the left-arm spinner picked a couple of wickets while conceding only 44 runs in 10 overs. Deepesh Devendran picked up three wickets but conceded 83 in his quota. Kishan Singh proved to be the most expensive. He conceded 50 runs in five overs.
