Unmukt Chand celebrates fatherhood as wife Simran gives birth to baby boy

Former Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand and his wife, Simran Khosla, welcomed the birth of their son on September 27, 2025, a joyous news they shared publicly a couple of days later on their official social media handles. Chand posted a heartfelt image featuring himself, his wife, and his son’s scan, adorned in blue hues, on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The caption read, “Our miracle, our sunshine, our everything. Welcome to the world, baby boy.”
The 32-year-old first rose to prominence when he captained India Under-19 to victory in the 2012 World Cup. In the final against hosts Australia, he played a calm, unbeaten 111 in a successful chase, marking his third consecutive century in an Under-19 World Cup final.
Chand made his Ranji Trophy debut while still in school, scoring a maiden century of 151 in just his fourth match. He made his IPL debut at 18 years and 15 days and was often compared to Virat Kohli, who had similarly led India to Under-19 glory in 2008. Despite early promise, Chand struggled to secure a place in the senior Indian team and did not achieve major success in the IPL. He retired from Indian cricket in 2021 after repeated attempts to break into the national side.
From 2018 onwards, Chand faced challenges with his state association, including being dropped from the Delhi squad despite representing India A. After moving to the United States in 2021, he played domestic cricket there and became eligible to represent the nation in 2024. However, he has yet to feature for the USA national team and continues to impress regularly in Major League Cricket (MLC) through his performances in franchise cricket.
Adding to the celebration of his achievements, Chand’s documentary, ‘Unbroken: The Unmukt Chand Story’, directed by Raghav Khanna, was released on September 12, 2025. The film charts his career highs and lows, providing an intimate look at his personal and professional journey, including the challenges he faced and the triumphs he achieved.
