The UP T20 League 2025 is back, and it’s shaping up to be another exciting season of cricket. From August 17 to September 6, 2025, six teams will go head-to-head in what promises to be an exciting contest for the coveted trophy. The matches will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where all 34 games, including the playoffs, will take place.
Each of the six franchises has something special to offer this season. The Meerut Mavericks, as defending champions, will be under pressure to retain their title. With key players like Rinku Singh, the captain, and Swastik Chikara in their squad, they’re not short on talent, but who will lead them this season remains to be seen.
Kanpur Superstars, the runners-up in 2024, will be hungry to go one step further. With players like captain Sameer Rizvi and Mohsin Khan, they have the squad to do it. The Noida Super Kings are another team to watch. They’ve built a solid squad, including Prashant Veer and Anivesh Choudhary, and will be aiming for a deep run in the tournament. Although their captain is still a mystery, the talent in their squad is undeniable.
Gorakhpur Lions and Kashi Rudras will both look to make their mark. The Lions, under Dhruv Jurel, will be eager to disrupt the order, while the Rudras, who won the inaugural season, will aim to prove that their first victory wasn’t a fluke. With players like Abhishek Goswami and Karan Sharma, they have the ability to surprise. But it’s the Lucknow Falcons that might steal the show. Led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of India’s most reliable pacers, they have a strong and experienced leader at the helm. With Priyam Garg in their ranks, they’ll be tough to beat.
