The stage is all set, and the players are all in readiness as Vidarbha (VID) square off against Saurashtra (SAU) in the Final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 on Sunday, January 18, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru.

Vidarbha have been in scintillating form throughout the season in the Vijay Hazare competition. In what was the most defining match of their campaign so far, Vidarbha beat the defending champions in the semi-finals on Friday, completing a heart-throbbing revenge against the Mayank Agarwal-led side who had beat them in the finals last year. Led by Harsh Dubey, Vidarbha will aim to lift the trophy this time round.

Saurashtra, on the other hand, had beaten Punjab to make their way into the summit clash of the elite 50-over competition. They won five out of the seven games during the Elite Group D clashes and then stormed their way by winning the quarter-final and the penultimate encounter. The Harvik Desai-led side will be hoping to treat the fans with an excellent game of cricket on Sunday.

The BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru will be hosting its first-ever final of a major tournament. Both the semi-finals were held at this venue, and on both occasions, it was the team batting second that ended up on the winning side. The surface here allows for the ball to come a little slower onto the bat earlier in the afternoon. However, as the golden hour kicks in, the wicket becomes excellent to bat on. Moreover, the outfield also becomes quicker owing to the dew present on the grass, giving batters full value for their shots.

Atharva Taide, Aman Mokhade, Dhruv Shorey, Ravikumar Samarth, Yash Rathod, Harsh Dubey (captain), Rohit Binkar (wicketkeeper), Nachiket Bhute, Yash Kadam, Darshan Nalkande, Yash Thakur

Harvik Desai (captain & wicketkeeper), Vishvaraj Jadeja, Prerak Mankad, Sammar Gajjar, Chirag Jani, Ruchit Ahir, Parswaraj Rana, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Jaydev Unadkat, Ankur Panwar, Chetan Sakariya

Aman Mokhade has been having his breakout season in the ongoing VHT 2025-26. The right-handed batter has already smashed five centuries in eight innings, scoring at a mind-boggling average of 97.62. The ace opener was the Player of the Match in the penultimate clash against Karnataka for his awe-inspiring knock of 138. The 25-year-old will be confident of playing yet another crucial knock as the trophy is on the line.

Those who watched the first semi-final live know how lethally Yash Thakur bowled to break through the defense of the in-form Devdutt Padikkal. In fact, his spell during the opening powerplay on Thursday put Vidarbha on the front foot. The right-arm fast bowler will be riding high on confidence after a spell, which he regards as the best spell of his career. Thakur will be backing his beliefs to bring the silverware for Vidarbha.
