Kuldeep Yadav struck thrice in his fourth over to derail the opposition in the final of Asia Cup 2025 between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28. Kuldeep ended with a four-wicket haul to his name, conceding only 30 runs in his allotted quota.
A toe-ended hoick from skipper Salman Agha (8 off 7) was snared by Sanju Samson on the first ball of the 17th over of the innings. Shaheen Shah Afridi's stay did not last long. Having survived an LBW shout on the next ball, even he had to return to the shed shortly after. Faheem Ashraf was dismissed for a silver duck on the final ball of the over.
The left-arm wrist-spinner impressed in the Men in Blue's previous encounters against the Men in Green at the same venue. He secured the Player of the Match award for his 3/18 during the league phase. Kuldeep's Super Fours performance was quite decent too. The India star registered figures of 1/31 in his four overs last week against the same opposition.
Speaking of the current match, Pakistan have been bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs. Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy contributed with the ball with a couple of wickets apiece. The right-arm pace of Jasprit Bumrah (2/25 in 3.1 overs) was impressive too. Only Shivam Dube and Tilak Varma ended up with nothing to show in the wickets' column.
