Rishabh Pant once again reminded fans why he is one of the most entertaining figures in modern cricket. During the first unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, Pant’s lively presence behind the stumps caught everyone’s attention. The wicketkeeper-batter, captaining the young India A side, was in his element as the stump mic picked up his humorous yet motivating comments toward his bowlers.
Pant, known for his infectious on-field personality, was heard constantly engaging with his spinners Tanush Kotian and Manav Suthar. His remarks combined tactical advice with a touch of humour, a style of communication that has become his signature since his early days with the Indian national side.
‘Jyada fielder nahi hai off-side mein, daalte rah apna koi nahi,’ he was heard saying, encouraging Kotian to keep attacking the stumps. Pant continued to urge him to focus on rhythm, reminding him that wickets would come as he stayed patient. The constant chat from Pant kept the dressing room energized, reflecting his natural leadership instincts and ability to ease pressure on young bowlers.
In another entertaining exchange, Pant turned cheerleader for left-arm spinner Suthar, challenging him with a playful line that has since gone viral – ‘6 ball daal ke dikhao zara maza aayega.’ The line, delivered in his trademark confident tone, sparked laughter from teammates and fans watching the broadcast feed. The moment expressed Pant’s unfiltered enthusiasm and his belief in leading by boosting morale rather than criticism.
