Fans believe that Arshdeep Singh took a not-so-subtle dig at Haris Rauf after India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup Super-Four clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21.
Arshdeep has played only one game in the 2025 edition of the Asia Cup. The Punjab cricketer picked up one wicket against Oman in an inconsequential fixture and became the fastest pacer to 100 scalps in T20I cricket. While Arshdeep hasn't had too many opportunities to showcase his talent on the field in the continental competition, the left-arm seamer has been winning the hearts of the Indian fans with his wholesome interactions with them on social media as well as in person.
Recently, a clip has set social media ablaze, where Arshdeep can be seen gesturing towards the crowd, forming a plane with his hand and crashing it into his bottom. Fans feel that it is a perfect reply to Haris Rauf, who gestured "6-0" during the India versus Pakistan clash, referring to Pakistan's unverified claims of downing six Indian fighter jets in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor
India defeated Pakistan after chasing down a 172-run target in just 18.5 overs with six wickets to spare. Abhishek Sharma earned the Player of the Match award for scoring a rampant half-century. The southpaw added 74 runs off 39 balls, belting six fours and five sixes. Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma also made important contributions to set up the win. Earlier in the game, Shivam Dube emerged as the pick of the bowlers for India, picking up two wickets in four overs.
Asia Cup: Comparing captains of India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka
The Men in Blue will be in action on Wednesday, September 24, in Dubai. On the other hand, Pakistan square off against Sri Lanka at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, 23. Both Sri Lanka and Pakistan lost their respective first matches in the Super-Four stage of the Asia Cup. Losing on Tuesday will all but end their hopes of reaching the final.
