India’s fast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah once again showcased his brilliance in the Asia Cup 2025 as he delivered a breathtaking yorker to dismiss UAE opener Alishan Sharafu in the second match of the tournament. The moment summed up India’s dominance with the ball as the Men in Blue bundled out UAE for just 57 runs, registering a clinical performance that underlined their supremacy in the tournament.
The delivery came on the fourth ball of the over, after an intriguing mini-battle between the Indian pacer and the UAE opener. Sharafu had attempted to take on Bumrah in the previous over, even managing to score a boundary. However, Bumrah, known for his ability to bounce back, first pushed him back with a short ball and then unleashed his most lethal weapon. The yorker was perfectly executed—fast, accurate, and angled in towards the off-stump. Sharafu tried to dig it out but was beaten for pace, watching his off-stump cartwheel behind him.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, India could not have asked for a better start. The bowlers were relentless, ensuring that UAE never found any rhythm in their innings. After Bumrah’s early breakthrough, the rest of the Indian bowling attack joined the party, dismantling UAE’s batting order in quick succession.
The highlight of the innings was left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who turned the game completely in India’s favour with a sensational spell. Kuldeep picked up four wickets for just seven runs in 2.1 overs, making it impossible for the UAE batters to stage a recovery. His sharp turn and variations proved too good for the middle and lower order.
Shivam Dube, too, chipped in with a three-wicket haul, showing his growing value as a utility all-rounder in the side. Together, the bowlers ensured UAE’s innings folded for a paltry 57 runs in just 13.1 overs.
