A big moment happened in the fourteenth over of Match 70 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, as Kuldeep Yadav narrowly missed out on getting a hat-trick at the Eden Gardens in the game between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC). Abishek Porel dropped a regulation catch behind the wickets to send Kuldeep into a moment of utter angst, as he clearly seemed not amused.
The batter in question was Tejavasi Dahiya, who had come in to face his first ball of the evening after Ajinkya Rahane and Rinku Singh had departed on consecutive deliveries. Kuldeep looked set for his third wicket off three balls, but a feather off Dahiya's edge could not fall perfectly into the gloves of the DC wicketkeeper, which resulted in a disappointed reaction from not only Kuldeep but also the skipper Axar Patel, who had the best view of it at first slip.
The hat-trick was right there! 🤏🥺So close yet so far for Kuldeep Yadav 🫣Updates ▶️ https://t.co/Uo07zwiknq#TATAIPL | #KhelBindaas | #KKRvDC | @imkuldeep18
