In a heated moment during last night’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant was seen scolding young spinner Digvesh Rathi.
In a heated moment during the match, a Decision Review System (DRS) misjudgment created friction between Delhi captain Pant and spinner Rathi. The incident unfolded on the final ball of the 7th over, when Rathi delivered a ball that struck KL Rahul on the pads. Rathi immediately made a loud and confident appeal for LBW, though it seemed marginal from the naked eye.
Pant, initially unsure, was eventually persuaded by Rathi to take the review, with only a few seconds left on the timer. However, the decision completely backfired. The ball was clearly pitching and impacting well outside the off-stump, making it a poor call for a review. The UltraEdge and ball-tracking confirmed there was no chance of a dismissal.
Visibly frustrated, Pant, after the next bowl when Abishek Porel came on strike, lashed out at Rathi for pushing the review, sharply saying, “Apna vala daal na, apna vala daal” loosely translating to, “Just bowl your kind of deliveries!” The remark reflected Pant’s irritation not just with the wasted review, but also the overconfidence that led to the avoidable error.

Delhi are enjoying a blistering run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Continuing their brilliant form, they registered their sixth win of the season by defeating LSG by 8 wickets. After winning the toss, DC asked the hosts to bat first, despite a wonderful start, LSG crumbled to just 159 runs as Nicolas Pooran failed to fire again. In reply, DC were never out of the chase and reached the target in just 17.5 overs. The win in Lucknow took DC to the second spot in the points table with 6 wins in 8 games.
LSG’s former skipper, Rahul made a strong comeback to his former home ground. Chasing 160 runs he scored a brilliant half century in 40-balls, his innings of 57(42) includes 3 fours and 3 sixes. Also, the right-hander achieved an exceptional feat of being the fastest player to score 5000 runs in the IPL. He attained this milestone in just 130 innings overtaking David Warner who did it in 135 innings. So far KL Rahul has scored 323 runs this IPL with an outstanding average of 64.60.
