A spectacular bowling moment added to Guyana Amazon Warriors’ dominant performance against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026. The defending champions produced an impressive all-round display at North Sound on Sunday, with their bowlers restricting the Falcons to a modest total before their batters completed a comfortable chase. Among the standout moments was a fiery delivery from Shamar Joseph, who produced a pinpoint yorker to dismiss Alzarri Joseph and finish with three wickets in the contest.

The dismissal came during the 17th over of the Falcons’ innings when Shamar bowled a delivery at 146.3kph. The ball swung into Alzarri Joseph and landed right in the blockhole. Alzarri cleared his front leg and attempted to swing across the line but failed to make proper contact.

The ball went underneath his bat and crashed into the leg stump, sending it cartwheeling. Shamar immediately celebrated the wicket by pumping his fist in the air after producing a superb delivery against his fellow West Indian pacer. Alzarri departed without scoring after facing three deliveries.

The Falcons struggled to build momentum after being asked to bat first. Khary Pierre made an early impact by dismissing Rahkeem Cornwall and Karima Gore, while Imran Tahir later removed Hasan Nawaz. Amir Jangoo top-scored with 37 off 29 balls, but the Falcons continued losing wickets. Shamar then took control of the lower order, dismissing Joshua James before completing an impressive three-wicket haul.

He finished with figures of 3/22, while Tahir and Pierre claimed two wickets each as the Falcons were bowled out for 116. The chase briefly became uncomfortable when Amazon Warriors slipped to 16/2 in the third over. However, Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope changed the course of the innings with a spectacular 99-run partnership from just 42 balls.

Hetmyer smashed 49 off 19 deliveries, including six sixes, while Hope remained unbeaten on 47 off 26 balls. Their partnership took Amazon Warriors close to the target before Quentin Sampson finished the chase with a six. The seven-wicket victory gave Amazon Warriors their third win in three games, keeping them at the top of the CPL 2026 points table.
